Three big millennial influencers — Kate Steinberg, Erin Miller and Nicole Story Dent — are teaming for “unapologetically” nostalgic podcast series “You Had 2 Be There,” celebrating pop-culture touchstones from the ’90s and 2000s.
The trio’s “You Had 2 Be There” podcast premieres June 18 across all major platforms. The show will feature Steinberg, Miller and Dent (who have more than 14 million followers combined) taking a look back at memorable moments from decades past as well as diving into current pop culture, relationships identity and “the everyday chaos of millennial life.” (Watch the trailer below.)
“We’re so excited to bring the conversations and community we’ve built on TikTok and Instagram into a longer format with ‘You Had 2 Be There,'” Steinberg said. “We’ve always been obsessed with revisiting the moments, trends and core memories that shaped our generation, and this allows us to unpack the stories behind them in a way that feels more personal. We want ‘You Had 2 Be There’ to feel like the group chat you never want to leave!”
Miller commented: “Whether we’re reminiscing about some random 2000s obsession we forgot existed, unpacking a childhood memory, or just figuring out all the weird parts of being a millennial, ‘You Had 2 Be There’ is where we get to share our hot takes, make each other laugh, and have the conversations that don’t make it into our content.”
And Dent added: “Starting a podcast with Kate and Erin? Like, duh! But seriously, ‘You Had 2 Be There’ feels like the perfect next step for everything we’ve built on our individual platforms, and for the three of us to come together and connect with our audiences on this level is incredibly exciting. We want listeners to feel like they’re hanging out with friends, laughing, immersing themselves in the nostalgia, and getting to know us beyond our Y2K selves while reliving the moments that helped shape who we are today.”
“You Had 2 Be There” is produced by female-led creative studio SickBird Productions, founded by Jade Watson, specializing in premium content across audio and video platforms. The production team for the podcast includes executive producer Diona DaCosta, head of SickBird’s podcast and digital division, and producers Kayla Forman and Rachel Derbyshire. DaCosta. DaCosta most recently worked on SAG-AFTRA’s “I Am An Actor” podcast and SickBird’s co-production of the Billboard On the Record podcast.
Steinberg, the internet’s self-proclaimed “Nostalgia Queen,” has gained a following through her content about “questionable Y2K fashion choices,” ranking forgotten snacks, reliving the glory days of early MTV, and more. Miller started out as a fashion influencer, before shifting gears during the pandemic to lean into her nostalgic memories from the ’90s and early 2000s. Dent is a millennial mom of two who has won fans through her commentary on parenting — and her ability to trigger nostalgic millennial memories.
