Lady A singer Charles Kelley just shared that he has been diagnosed with a form of blood cancer called multiple myeloma.
The 45-year-old singer, who filmed a video alongside his wife Cassie, revealed he found out the news because he had some fractured ribs. As a result, he needed to get some blood work done.

“One of the last blood tests we did, they found a blood cancer in there called multiple myeloma. It’s rare. But I’m young, I feel healthy, and the treatments, I will say, have just come so far even in the past five years, that even the life expectancy far exceeds what it used to be,” he shared.
“I feel really hopeful. I think in the same spirit of the way we’ve kind of shared a lot of my sobriety journey, just getting this stuff off your chest is so freeing and it takes the power away from it a little bit. We wanted to let you all know what was going on, and we’re gonna get through it,” he continued.
Lady A‘s official Instagram account reacted to the news in the comments, writing, “We love you, Charles.”
Lady A is supposed to head out on the road for a string of concerts in December.
We’re wishing Charles all the best during this time. Just a few years ago, he opened up about staying sober.
