Genesis Owusu has announced a UK and European tour – check out all the details below.

The follow-up to his 2023 LP ‘STRUGGLER’, ‘Redstar Wu & The Worldwide Scourge’, arrived earlier this month, featuring the Ghanaian-Australian musician’s previously released singles ‘Pirate Radio’, ‘Death Cult Zombie’ and ‘Stampede’.

Offering commentary on our modern, “unsettled” world, the record drew from an eclectic range of genres, including neo-soul, alt pop, synth punk, funk and more, with Owusu saying that writing it almost felt like a necessity, “because there were so many people not saying what needed to be said”.

Now, he’s announced a run of UK and European tour dates set for this winter in support of the album. Kicking off in November, the trek includes stops in Berlin, Paris, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, and Dublin.

Owusu’s latest album scored four stars from NME in a review that read: “It’s like a concept-heavy compilation record, all made by one man. Though many of these tracks (the Thundercat funk of ‘Hellstar’ or the aforementioned, satisfyingly janky ‘Most Normal American Voter’ in particular) are individually great, it takes at least three listens to even get a vague handle on how Owusu’s third sits together as a whole.

You can’t fault Owusu’s ambition, nor his ability to translate his furies and fears into a response that feels genuinely reactive and urgent. On his third album, he’s made a truly modern version of a protest record.”

His previous offering, ‘STRUGGLER’, was also named NME‘s 18th Best Album of 2023, with its entry reading: “On Genesis Owusu’s second album, his star was glowing ever brighter. A concept album centering around a character called The Roach, Owusu’s output was an assured thrill, weaving rippling basslines, bursts of disco and funky riffs into a vibrant patchwork. In both its story and sound, ‘Struggler’ was brimming with bright ideas.”
