Max Balegde and Andrew Spann are going their separate ways.
The 27-year-old TikTok star and TV presenter confirmed that he and his longtime boyfriend have broken up after more than five years together.
Rumors swirled after the two unfollowed each other on Instagram, leading to reports of a split.
The two began dating in 2021 after they matched on Hinge, and had just celebrated their five year anniversary back in April, with Andrew captioning a photo carousel on Instagram: “Half a decade of us, no biggie.”
Following the split rumors and reports about him partying in Ibiza, Max spoke out in a TikTok.

When Did Max Balegde & Andrew Spann Break Up?
“Sadly, it is true that me and Andrew have broken up after five and a half years of being together,” he confirmed.
“We broke up around two weeks ago,” he continued, adding that “it’s been a really sad and tough time.”
“There’s been so much love between the two of us, between our families, our friends over those years. When you’re with someone for that long, your lives just become so intrinsically bonded together and you can’t imagine not having them in your life,” he said, adding that he’s been “struggling a lot.”
Max Balegde Addresses Reports About Partying in Ibiza After Split
He also confirmed that he is currently in Ibiza, but pushed back against reports online that he was “just partying,” saying that it “could not be further from the truth. It really couldn’t be.”
“I had this holiday booked for ages, I’d paid for it,” he said, pointing out that Andrew has moved in with his “lovely, supportive family.”
“He’s got all of his friends in the area where we live. My family are on holiday, my family don’t live close, my friends weren’t available, all my other friends were going to Ibiza. So I thought, if I’m gonna be sobbing by myself in a room, may as well be able to see the sea as well,” he said.
“I’ve been going to the gym, I’ve been looking after myself. I’ve not really been going out, not been drinking much. Just spending time with lovely, supportive friends that have really, really been a godsend in this time.”

Max also addressed why he decided to end the relationship.
“I chose to end the relationship for personal reasons that I don’t really want to discuss on the Internet. And out of respect for Andrew, I don’t really want to discuss,” he said.
“There’s so much love there. It’s not hate. When you can’t get everything that you need from someone, you have to sometimes face reality and it’s sad. I’m devastated,” he explained.
“I was hoping it could just slowly fade out, but articles got written, which makes me feel really weird. It’s a layer of this that I didn’t even consider happening. And the fact that they had a source who told them makes me feel sick. I don’t know who that was,” he went on to say.
“I’ve just been posting silly TikToks to kind of cope because I’m losing my s–t, to be honest with you. Losing the plot slightly. I’ve never had a breakup like this before…I don’t know how to navigate it.”
Despite the difficult time, Max said he’s “excited for the future, even though I can’t feel that excitement right now.”
“I know how much representation means to the LGBT community, and the fact that I’ve been able to be that with my relationship for you lot means the world. And I kind of feel like I’m failing you a little bit…once I get over this sadness, I’m sure there’s lots of happiness on the horizon. So bear with me.” Watch him explain above.
