Lanterns is shining brightly on upon its series debut.

The DC Studios series raked in 9.3 million globally cross-platform viewers and 6.6 million in the U.S. in its first three days of availability on HBO and HBO Max, per Warner Bros. Discovery. With regard to streaming, it now ranks among the top five series premieres on HBO Max.

The company confirms that the Lanterns premiere outperformed those of several tentpole series including IT: Welcome to Derry, The Penguin and True Detective: Night Country. Those went on to average 27.1, 19.8, and 17.5 million global viewers, respectively, making a good case for the trajectory of Lanterns.

The premiere episode of Lanterns has showed some longevity, as well, remaining as the No. 1 title on HBO Max’s daily Top 10 list since Sunday.

Lanterns is from co-creators Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King. New episodes air Sunday nights at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET on HBO and are available at the same time on HBO Max.

The series follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery with cosmic ties as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
