The new queer horror film Leviticus is getting a lot of buzz ahead of its theatrical release this weekend!
Rising stars Joe Bird and Stacy Clausen attended a screening and Q&A for the film on Monday night (June 15) at the Harmony Gold Preview House in Los Angeles.
FYI: Stacy is wearing an oversized Stella McCartney blazer and matching shorts along with David Yurman jewelry. Joe wore an all-white look.
In Leviticus, two teenage boys must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most – each other. Also starring in the movie is Mia Wasikowska.
The movie will be released in theaters on June 19. Critics are raving about the film and it currently holds a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Neon acquired the film during the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Watch the trailer below!
Stacy opened up to Man About Town about the movie getting so much acclaim ahead of its release.
“It’s pretty wild, a mixture of a lot of different things to be honest,” he said. “The cast and crew put so much into this movie, and for a while now it only existed with us, but soon it’ll belong to audiences, which is a kind of a strange but super, super exciting transition. The response from the few festivals Leviticus has screened at has been so great, but that’s such a small sample size, so with the full release, I think I’m just hoping people continue to connect with it. I’m looking forward to a wider audience getting the chance to experience it. It’s really a film that tends to spark conversation, and I can’t wait to hear them.”
