Brian Bennett is joining MS NOW as national security director, overseeing national security reporting at the White House and across the Trump administration.
Bennett most recently has been senior White House correspondent for Time, and covered the Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump campaigns. His work also included a cover story and Oval Office interview with Trump. He also has reported from Hong Kong, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq, and served as Time’s Baghdad bureau chief during the Iraq War. He previously worked for the Los Angeles Times and served as White House and immigration reporter.
Sudeep Reddy, DC bureau chief for MS NOW, said in a note to staffers, “A veteran journalist who has covered the White House since 2017, Brian has spent 25 years reporting from 19 countries, interviewing world leaders, and covering the aftermath of major conflicts, crises, and disasters.”
Bennett said in a statement, “Throughout my career covering conflicts, presidents and major disasters, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of fast, accurate and authoritative reporting. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues to deliver trusted national security coverage at this critical moment when the country faces war and evolving threats, and to help audiences better understand the national security decisions being made inside the White House and what they mean for people across the country.”
