EXCLUSIVE: Gable, the indie telling the true story of Olympic gold medalist wrestler Dan Gable, has added three to its cast: Mireille Enos (The Killing), Ella Bright (Off Campus) and Jake Picking (Running Point).

Enos replaces Leslie Bibb, who sources said exited to take on a role in a major series. (Bibb most recently signed on for a role alongside Brett Goldstein in the Amazon romantic comedy Escorted.)

Enos plays Gable’s mother Katie, with Bright as his sister Diane. No word yet on Picking’s role.

As previously announced, Finn Cole leads the cast in the title role. Foster and KJ Apa also star.

Gable tells the story of a working-class kid from Waterloo, Iowa who overcame an unthinkable family tragedy to become one of the most dominant athletes in the history of combat sports, compiling a 181-1 record throughout high school and college, and ultimately facing off against the powerful Soviets at the height of the Cold War.

Jon Greenhalgh (Netflix’s Team Foxcatcher) is directing from a script written with Michael Wallach (The Bay). Shaun Redick and Yvette Yates Redick (BlacKkKlansman, Get Out) are producing via their Impossible Dream Entertainment, reteaming with Foster after partnering with him and Woody Harrelson on the Oscar-nominated 2009 film The Messenger.

Exec producers include former Chairman of Capital Guardian Trust, Andy Barth, and Graham Manley, with producers Nate Adams and David Gould rounding out the team. Sales are being handled by Impossible Dream Entertainment. Steven Beer and Robert Maslonka from Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard and Smith LLP are handling production legal for the project.

An Emmy, Golden Globe and Tony nominee best known for starring in the lauded crime drama series The Killing, Enos is also known for shows like Big Love, The Catch, Hanna and Lucky Hank, along with films like Gangster Squad and World War Z. Most recently seen in the fifth season of Apple’s alt-history space race drama For All Mankind, she’ll next be seen starring alongside Jon Hamm in the crime thriller series American Hostage, premiering September 20 on MGM+. She is repped by Gersh, Howard Green Entertainment and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.

Bright is a New York City-born and London-raised actress having a major moment with Off Campus, the hugely popular romantic drama series from Prime Video, where she stars opposite Belmont Cameli. The show amassed 37 million views within the first seven days of release and is already back in production on its second season. Prior credits for the actress include the British series Malory Towers, Netflix’s The Crown, where she played a young Kate Middleton, and the 2018 comedy film Holmes & Watson with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. She is repped by Accelerate, Prime Talent Media and Myman Greenspan Fox.

Picking broke out with his turn as Rock Hudson in Ryan Murphy’s Netflix series Hollywood, with additional credits including the Showtime limited series The First Lady and Apple film The Greatest Beer Run Ever from Peter Farrelly. Most recently, he’s appeared alongside Kate Hudson and Drew Tarver in the second season of the hit Netflix series Running Point. He is repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Ziffren Brittenham.
