EXCLUSIVE: Avengers: Doomsday and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu is joining Allison Williams and Michelle Randolph in Xavier Gens’ sci-fi survival thriller, Homewrecker.
Filming is confirmed to get underway in Paris, France, on July 15th, following the Bastille Day national holiday.
French actress Anaïs Parello, who recently teamed with Gens on Netflix shark hit Under Paris, has also joined the cast.
The project, which the producers have likened in spirit to Paramount sci-fi horror 10 Cloverfield Lane, heralds from producers Denise Di Novi (Little Women), Margaret French Isaac (The Fan), and Oliver Scherick for Di Novi Pictures, with John Zois (Greenland franchise) and Warren Goz (The Marksman) producing for Parallel 42 Entertainment. Michael Rothstein and Samuel Hall will executive produce for north.five.six. (Regretting You), alongside Williams, Randolph and Zach Book.
The synopsis for the original screenplay by Elisa Bell (Vegas Vacation) and Travis Gordon reads: “During a heart-breaking domestic revelation, three star-crossed Americans are suddenly forced to work together to survive a terrifying unexplained global event that threatens to destroy life as they know it.”
Liu recently made his Broadway debut in Oh, Mary! and starred in and executive-produced Peacock’s thriller The Copenhagen Test. He will next be seen in Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, opening in December.
North.five.six. are fully financing and representing worldwide distribution rights on the film. north.five.six., CAA Media Finance and UTA Independent Film Group will co-rep domestic rights.
