The Spider-Man: No Way Home shared how Zendaya—who Law Roach teased got married to the Cherry actor earlier this year—as well as his mom Nikki Holland inspired the new line of shandy drinks he’s releasing under his non-alcoholic beer brand, Bero.
“The shandy was kind of my mum’s idea,” Tom explained to Forbes in an interview published June 1. “Zendaya, bless her, has never been a drinker, so she’s never drank beer. She didn’t love the beers we have on sale.”
As a result, Tom, 30, and his team wanted “to create something authentic at the company that Z could enjoy.”
The upcoming non-alcoholics shandy flavors include classic lemon lime, as well as grapefruit, elderflower and blackberry yuzu—and Zendaya, 29, already has a favorite among the bunch. As Tom told Forbes, he’s banned from drinking the grapefruit ones at their home as that’s the Euphoria alum’s preferred shandy.
And it wasn’t just Zendaya and his mom who influenced the newest creation, as the elderflower shandy pays homage to his grandmother as a flavor she always enjoyed.
Tom originally launched Bero in 2024 after he stopped drinking in 2022—a decision he’s found has positively impacted his life and career.
"Drinking was something that was ultimately really getting in the way of my professional life," Tom told USA Today in April. "Being an actor and living your life on the big stage can be really stressful. And I think that alcohol, for me personally, really compounded that issue."
And Tom quickly found that he had the support of all the most important people in his life, including his friends and Zendaya.
"All of my friends have really slowed down drinking," he told the outlet. "I had all of my mates over the other night. That used to be, like, a really, really boozy affair. We'd be up till 1 in the morning drinking. We'd be all hungover the next day. And I had like 10 guys over at my house, and I don't think anyone had a drop of alcohol."
"Everyone was really present," the Odyssey star added. "There was no waking up the next day feeling groggy. And I just love what it's done for my life in general."
