EXCLUSIVE: Niecy Nash is moving into the world of true-crime.
The All’s Fair star has teamed up with her daughter Dia Nash to launch a true-crime video podcast series. The pair have signed up with Pave Studios, founded by former Spotify executive Max Cutler, to produce the original series, which will be part of its Crime House brand.
The pair will dig into “crimes of passion”, sharing commentary in each weekly episode on and reactions to real cases. The untitled series will focus on crimes rooted in intimacy and betrayal featuring partners, exes, spouses, and lovers.
Niecy Nash has been in or around crime on television for years, starring in series including The Rookie and its spinoff The Rookie: Feds as well as Ryan Murphy’s Netflix true-crime drama series Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and playing a police officer in comedy Reno 911!
Her daughter Dia has starred in Lifetime’s Sister Wife Murder and alongside her mother in episodes of The Rookie: Feds, Monster and Claws.
“Pave exists at the intersection of premium content and creators who are redefining how audiences connect,” said Pave Founder and CEO Max Cutler. “Niecy and Dia embody that better than anyone, and working with creators like them is only the latest example of our core philosophy in building the studio of tomorrow.”
“In our family we don’t just tell stories – we solve them,” Niecy and Dia Nash added. “We are excited to partner with Pave. Welcome to the mysteries we will unravel together.”
