Busy Philipps is sharing a new update about her health.
If you were unaware, the 47-year-old Dawson’s Creek actress underwent surgery in March after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. The 2.6 centimeter-long mass was biopsied, and found to be a rare tumor called an oligodendroglioma.
While stepping out for the premiere of her new CBS series Cupertino on Wednesday night (September 30), Busy shared an update on health.
“I chatted with my oncologist today,” Busy told People. “She was like, ‘Really just wanted to talk about Cupertino.’ I’m not even kidding you.”
“She’s like, ‘Your scan was clean. So when’s the show come out? Is it this week or next week?’” she continued. “I was like, ‘The premiere is tonight.’ She’s like, ‘Amazing.’ Anyway, so yeah, she’s been on the whole journey with me.”
Busy was diagnosed with the rare brain tumor after undergoing a Prenuvo full-body scan in February.
“I found out I got the show on the same day as the brain tumor,” she shared with outlet. “I said to my doctors, ‘I just was cast in this television show. How can I do this?’ … My doctor was just very confident and said, ‘You’ll have the surgery in a week from today and then you’ll be able to be on set in four weeks.’ And I was.”
Since going public with her health journey in August, Busy said she’s received tons of support from the public.
“So many people have come up to me in public and just expressed that they’re grateful for me sharing what I’ve gone through and also just the message of like, listen to your body, women,” she said. “If you get a no from a doctor, continue to seek care for yourself if you just feel something’s off.”
“I’m grateful for that. I’ve been overwhelmed with love and support and it’s been very nice,” Busy added. “I mean, what? Are people gonna be mean?”
Cupertino will premiere on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 10 PM ET/PT. Find out more about the series here!
