EXCLUSIVE: Untitled Entertainment has acquired Emily Gerson Saines’ Brookside Artist Management, the company Gerson Saines founded in 1998 and has run ever since. Brookside, a rare all-women representation firm, will be fully integrated into Untitled, with Gerson Saines joining as a partner in the New York office and Brookside’s two managers Laura Wilkinson and Tess Citron also making the move to the new company.
As part of the acquisition, transitioning to Untitled is Brookside’s full client roster, including Kieran Culkin, Macaulay Culkin, Daveed Diggs, David Krumholtz, Cynthia Nixon, Brenda Song, Sebastian Stan, Grace Van Patten, and Vanessa Williams, among others.
A veteran talent representative, Gerson Saines began her career at CAA and served as a vice president at the William Morris Agency before switching to management with the launch of Brookside Artist Management in 1998. She executive produced HBO’s Temple Grandin, sharing in its Outstanding Made for Television Movie Emmy and Peabody awards, as well as HBO Max’s Tokyo Vice and Starz’s Blindspotting.
“I couldn’t be happier to officially be in business with Emily. She was one of the first people to support us when I became a manager and has remained a trusted collaborator and confidante for years,” said Jason Weinberg, a Founding Partner of Untitled which launched a year after Brookside. “What she built at Brookside is very exciting, and having her and her team join Untitled feels like a natural evolution of a longstanding partnership and friendship. Stephanie, Jeff, Matt, and our entire team are thrilled to welcome Emily and Brookside to Untitled.”
The acquisition of Brookside, which had been in the works for several months, comes exactly two years after private equity firm TPG in June 2024 acquired a majority stake in Untitled Entertainment as the centerpiece of a talent management-focused entertainment company Initial Group, led by CEO Michel Pratte. Over the past two years, Initial acquired the literary-focused management company Grandview, which, like Brookside, was integrated into Untitled, as well as Silver Tribe Media — now operating as Initial Digital — and made a strategic investment in Good World Management.
Untitled is led by Founding Partners Weinberg and Stephanie Simon and Managing Partners Jeff Silver and Matt Rosen who came from Grandview.
“I have watched with admiration as Initial Group has taken shape. Along the way, they have chosen to invest in companies that are best in class in their respective fields — Silver Tribe Media, Good World Management, and, of course, my new home, Untitled Entertainment,” Gerson Saines said. “Jason Weinberg and Stephanie Simon have built the most dynamic and influential talent management company in the business, and joined forces with Jeff Silver and Matt Rosen, who built the most respected literary management company in our industry. In a rapidly evolving landscape, I couldn’t be more excited to join forces with such talented colleagues and become part of an organization that continues to invest in growth and innovation while keeping client service at the forefront. I look forward to bringing my team into Untitled as we continue creating new opportunities and bright futures for our extraordinary clients.”
