EXCLUSIVE: Two of the exec producers of Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia have teamed up on a new slate of scripted originals for the young adult
Jenny Daly’s Studio82 and Happy Accidents, co-founded by Holly A. Hines, are developing financing and producing a range of titles focused on the YA market as part of a strategic partnership.
This comes as Ginny & Georgia is currently filming its fourth season.
Daly, former President of Critical Content and A. Smith & Co. Productions, launched Studio82 earlier this year with a scripted YA division as well as a unit developing unscripted projects for creators and celebrities. On the YA front, she is developing projects with the likes of the Neese brothers, producers of series including Freeform’s Cruel Summer and Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy. Daly is also working with Veritas Entertainment’s Peter Jaysen and Alan Gasmer, producers of Timothée Chalamet’s Bob Dylan movie A Complete Unknown.
Happy Accidents was founded by Hines and Eric Jarboe. The company is currently producing Gnomes starring Asa Butterfield for Disney+ in the UK and is working on Violent Delight from Asha Michelle Wilson (American Horror Story) and Tyler Hansen (S.W.A.T), which centers around a contemporary reimagining of Shakespeare’s most iconic characters.
