Country songwriter Tyler Hubbard couldn't get this hook out of his head—literally.

The 39-year-old—known for penning songs for his band Florida Georgia Line—struggled to get a fishing hook dislodged from his scalp during a camping trip with wife Hayley Hubbard and their kids Olivia Rose, 8, Luca Reed, 6 and Atlas Roy, 5. 

In footage shared to Instagram July 26, Hayley inspected the grisly flesh wound as Tyler quipped, "Breakfast had to wait."

And though Tyler admitted that the injury did "hurt so bad," the "Wish You Would" artist managed to keep his cool under pressure. As one of his three kids asked more questions about the incident off camera, Tyler explained, "It's probably not bleeding a lot, but it might bleed a little."

For her part, Hayley, also 39—who stepped in as the impromptu surgeon—took a moment to understand exactly where the barb had gotten stuck, though Tyler didn't explain the backstory behind the accident.

"I'm just going to get my bearings here," the lifestyle blogger reassured her husband of 11 years, whom she called brave, eventually asking Tyler, "Are there any tricks to this?"

While the unpleasant experience was a first for the family, Hayley managed to remove the hook to cheers from her brood, adding herself, "Oh, we got it!"

Aside from the medical mishap, the family of five made plenty of memories on the outdoorsy trip that Hayley called "worth the [schlepping] and loading up and unpacking and fun that comes along with camping."

"We got 4 days off with @tylerhubbard in the middle of this crazy summer and decided to go camping in the airstream," Hayley captioned a July 28 recap of the summer vacation, signing off, "next time we’ll try to avoid fish hooks in the head."

The unexpected update comes after Tyler and bandmate Brian Kelley reunited for a surprise appearance at CMA Fest 2026, their first time on stage together since Florida Georgia Line's 2022 hiatus.

"CMA Fest, it feels so good to be here with my brother," Hubbard announced at the June 4 concert. "And listen, we got three things we want to say tonight. First of all, God is good. Second of all, life is short. And most importantly, your boys....we back, baby!"

The Florida Georgia Line star was accompanied by wife Hayley Hubbard and daughter Olivia at the 2018 CMA Awards. Cuteness overload! The couple has since welcomed a son named Luca, born in Aug. 2019.
