EXCLUSIVE: Principal photography has just completed in and around Norfolk, Virginia, on dark thriller America’s Favorite, starring Dane DeHaan (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Maddie Hasson (Malignant), Paul Roffman (Girl), Greg Kinnear (Black Bird) and Dennis Quaid (Reagan).
The film will follow Peter Bale (De Haan), “a reporter turned TV host who tries to revive his career by investigating a series of murders during a live broadcast, only to uncover a deeper conspiracy tied to a powerful media mogul.”
The Solution Entertainment Group is handling international sales and partner Lisa Wilson will introduce the project to buyers at the Toronto market.Directed by Eric Bross (Affairs of State) from a script written by Bross and frequent collaborator Tom Cudsworth (Affairs of State), producers are Stephen Israel (Swimming with Sharks) via his production shingle School Pictures, Solution Entertainment partners Myles Nestel (Hostage) and Craig Chapman (Blacklight), Eric Bross, and Jeff Frizzell (Affairs of State).
Executive producers are Robbie Brenner (Barbie), Lisa Wilson (Mongoose), Dan Riordan and Kyle Fox (I Play Rocky), Ken Rosenau, Jeff Rice (Runner),Suzan Kaufman, John Black and Lee Broda (The Apprentice).
The film reunites the production team from Affairs of State: Bross, Israel, Frizzell, cinematographer Horacio Marquinez and production designer Michael Fitzgerald. “I feel incredibly fortunate to have Dennis Quaid, Greg Kinnear, Dane DeHaan, and the wonderfully gifted Maddie Hasson joining us for America’s Favorite,” said Bross. “It’s truly a dream cast for a film that has been a passion project of mine for a long time.
