Prince Harry is making it clear that his concerns about a possible U.K. visit go beyond where his family would stay.

The Duke of Sussex has not yet accepted King Charles‘ offer of royal accommodation ahead of a potential trip to Britain with Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

According to a palace source, the King‘s offer for Harry and his family to stay at a royal residence remains on the table. However, a spokesperson for Harry said in a statement on Monday (June 29), that lodging is not the central issues.

Prince Harry‘s programme in the United Kingdom includes both public and private engagements across the country,” the spokesperson said (via People), noting that safe accommodation is only one part of a larger security plan because “risk follows the person, not the place.”

The rep added that “the issue has never been accommodation,” but whether “appropriate and proportionate protective security” will be provided for the full visit.

Harry is continuing to explore “every available option” so the trip can happen safely and so Archie and Lilibet can spend time in the U.K.

The planned visit has drawn attention because it could mark the children’s first time back in Britain since 2022. It also comes as Harry is expected to take part in events connected to the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

Reports have also suggested that Harry hoped the trip would give Archie and Lilibet time with their grandfather, King Charles. However, those plans remain uncertain as questions about security continue.

Harry has long argued that it is not safe for him to bring Meghan and their children to the U.K. without proper police protection. He previously lost a legal appeal over his U.K. security arrangements in 2025.
