Orlando Bloom has reportedly pulled out of an upcoming movie right before filming starts.

The 49-year-old actor was set to star in the thriller Reset with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, but he dropped out at the last minute, according to TMZ.

Orlando and Priyanka‘s casting were announced back in May, and the actor was still on board through pre-production.

According to TMZ, sources it’s a messed up situation, as the independent feature got financed with his and Priyanka‘s involvement, and it would have been easier to secure an international distribution deal.

What is Reset about?

The movie, written by Jordan Rawlins, “follows a woman (Chopra Jonas) who wakes up in the middle of the wilderness days from civilization with no memory of how she got there, finding that her only chance at survival is to trust a charming stranger (Bloom) — who may not be who he says he is.”

Deadline previously reported that Matt Smukler is directing and production was set to begin in August.

“I was looking for a pairing where attraction and mistrust could effortlessly coexist. Priyanka and Orlando have this uncanny ability to make you believe both at once. Their chemistry is undeniable,” Matt said previously.

Priyanka is also serving as a producer on the film through her Purple Pebble Pictures company. Orlando was also said to be producing.

Per TMZ, there are reportedly three men in consideration for Orlando‘s role, and they need to be cast ASAP as there is a schedule to be kept up with. As a producer, Priyanka will likely have the final say on which of the three men will be cast, if the movie can still be made, the outlet says.
