EXCLUSIVE: Isabel May is set to star in and executive produce Amazon MGM Studios’ romantic comedy Love Love from writer-director Joey Power. Power will direct with RK Films’ Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum and 3 Arts Entertainments’ Ari Lubet and Jonathan Berry producing. In addition to May, Power and Alyssa Altman will executive produce.
Power and Daniel Sweren-Becker wrote the script, which follows a struggling tennis phenom who falls for a charismatic local ball boy at the US Open. Their unlikely romance just might be the spark she needs to make it to the finals.
May earned rave reviews for her breakout role as Elsa Dutton in Taylor Sheridan’s 1883 for Paramount+ and the narrator of the follow-up series, 1923. May starred in the seventh installment of Scream.” Upon release, the film set a franchise record within its first weekend alone before becoming the series’ highest grossing release.
Upcoming, May co-stars opposite David Corenswet in the sports drama biopic Mr. Irrelevant, releasing on December 25; in Lionsgate’s action thriller Karoshi with Tee Yoo, releasing January 29, 2027; alongside Chloë Grace Moretz, Anthony Ramos and Lukas Gage in the romantic drama Love Language, also from Joey Power; and the drama Fallingopposite KJ Apa. She joins Jennifer Lopez and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in The Last Mrs. Parrish directed by Academy Award winner Robert Zemeckis.
