The BET Awards 2026 are in full swing, taking place on Sunday evening at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.

Among early winners at the ceremony include Kehlani and Leon Thomas, who took home best female and male R&B/pop artist, respectively. Janet Jackson was on hand to present Teyana Taylor with the Icon of the Year Award, recognizing her achievements as a director, actor, choreographer and singer. Jackson also announced that Taylor had won the awards for video director of the year, the Fashion Vanguard award and best actress.

Performances thus far have come from T.I., who opened the show with “Top Back” and “Let ‘Em Know,” followed by Kehlani with “Folded” (featuring an assist from Jamie Foxx), Don Toliver with “E85” and “Body,” and Raye with an impassioned rendition of her song “Nightingale Lane.”
