Metal-inspired Disney merch range launched featuring new fonts for ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and more

Disney has launched a new metal inspired merch range featuring new fonts for their classic villains.

The haul showcases the studio’s classic baddies which includes a number of T-shirts inspired by heavy metal logo designs.

These include a Sleeping Beauty T-shirt featuring villain Maleficent’s words “Mirror Mirror” written in classic black-metal scraggly lines, Hercules bad guy Hades’ new shirt with the slogan “Lord of the Underworld” in a doom metal-inspired font, and Ursula from The Little Mermaid sharing a logo fit for a progressive doom group.

Yzma and Kronk from Emperor’s New Groove also gets a thrash metal-inspired shirt for their themed “Pull the Lever” coaster rumoured for Disney’s Magic Kingdom’s upcoming Villains Land, along with a Maleficent shirt for a “Villainous Tour” designed to look like a concert T-shirt.

Along with T-shirts, the collection also includes apparel, accessories, drinkware, and collectibles featuring some of Disney’s most memorable villains, including Maleficent, Ursula, Cruella de Vil, The Evil Queen, the Headless Horseman, and Vanessa from The Little Mermaid.

Elsewhere, it was recently reported that Macaulay Culkin is in talks with Disney for a new Home Alone movie.

According to entertainment journalist Matt Belloni on his latest episode of The Town podcast, Culkin was recently spotted at Disney and they are keen to take up his idea for a new movie.

“Macaulay Culkin is having his ass kissed like nobody’s business,” Belloni said. “They’re offering him another movie, like he could do his own passion project, if he would also do another Home Alone. [He has] a good idea.

“I’ve talked to people who have heard it, and it’s a really good idea for a Home Alone reboot with Macaulay Culkin. If that happens and they restart the Home Alone franchise, that would be gigantic for the next 10 years. Because that movie, as you know, is perennially top of the streaming lists from October through Christmas.”

Culkin is yet to comment or confirm his return to the franchise publicly.
