Olivia Rodrigo is releasing “what’s wrong with me,” her first-ever original song to include a feature (outside of soundtrack songs).
The track appears as the tenth song on you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, her new album out on Friday (June 12), and features the iconic English musician Robert Smith, co-founder of The Cure.
“It’s really, really special to me for so many reasons but primarily because it’s my first song that I’ve ever done a feature on, which is really exciting. It’s my first collaboration and I am just so proud of it and I can’t believe that this song exists and the person that it exists with. I’m just so f–king over the moon,” she told the crowd as she debuted the track at Primavera Sound earlier this month.
“Went to the doctor and she said I was fine / But every movie that I see makes me cry / It’s like somebody put a weight on my chest / I should talk to a friend / But I can’t get out of bed / My head is spinning and my stomach is sick / Say I’m in love, so it’s hard to admit / I can’t eat, I can’t sleep / I think you’re what’s wrong with me,” she sings on the song, which finds her realizing that her partner is the source of her unhappiness.

“She’s so good. She is genuinely fantastic as a songwriter and as a singer, as a performer. And the band, everything about it, I genuinely love what she does. I’m slightly in awe of how easy she finds it all. It’s not really comparable to how I do things…it comes across as very effortless, very natural,” Robert remarked in an interview with BBC6 Music.
“I keep looking for distractions / Hope the feeling passes / But I’ve got to say It’s getting harder every day / And I can’t seem to get around it / Head just keeps on pounding with / The simple thought / What if this isn’t what I want,” Robert Smith sings.
