Miley has hinted at plans for a concert residency

The singer – who recently dropped her last name – released her tenth album ‘Bass Persuades’ last Friday (September 18).
To celebrate the record’s release, she announced two shows at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 16 and 18. You can find any remaining tickets here.
The shows come after Miley said last year that she still had no “desire” to tour, explaining that embarking on extensive runs of concerts made it difficult to maintain her mental well-being.
Now, she’s hinted at plans for a residency. During an interview with Zane Lowe for his show on Apple Music, the singer reflected on the high demand for her two Hollywood Bowl shows.
Lowe said: “I think you would have to do a residency of 80 shows at the [Hollywood] Bowl to satisfy the level of demand,” to which Miley responded: “This is the ultimate dress rehearsal. I’ve learned now through the queue that my calculations are correct, and people will come to me. I don’t need to drive to you.”
An estimated 1.5million people attempted to buy tickets to the two shows, though the Bowl had a max capacity of 17,500. Lowe added that those concerts had shown “proof of concept,” saying they could be “potentially the beginning of something broader.”
Speaking last year about touring, Miley said: “I do have the physical ability and I have the opportunities to tour. I wish I had the desire, but I don’t.
“I also don’t think there’s actually an infrastructure that supports artists. The artists like Prince, that are not here today, that lived such a high-intensity lifestyle. You’re out on the road, and it’s hard to maintain sobriety when you’re on the road, which is a really important pillar of stability in my life. Not only losing their life but losing their minds,” she added.
This isn’t the first time she has opened up about the impact touring has on her wellbeing either. Back in 2023 the singer revealed that she has struggled with the idea of being on the road for years, and has come to realise that it “isn’t healthy for me”.
In a four-star review of her previous album, NME wrote: “‘Something Beautiful’ is sprawling and apparently unperturbed by contemporary chart trends. While ‘Something Beautiful’ probably isn’t Cyrus’s most hit-packed album, it does feel like a fully realised artistic statement.”
Miley’s father Billy Ray Cyrus has shared his thoughts on his daughter dropping her surname for her next era.
In other news, Miley received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in May, where she committed to “continuing the cycle full of creation”.
Elsewhere, she recently shared a personal tribute to her godmother Dolly Parton, who died last month, aged 80. Miley recalled that one of their final conversations had been about “music and metamorphosis”.
“What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong,” she wrote. “I have an angel by my side. I always have.”
