Fans picked up on what appeared to be a subtle nod to Hilary Duff‘s ex-husband.

On Wednesday night (August 5), the 38-year-old “Adult Sized Medium” singer performed her first of two sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City while on her The Lucky Me Tour.

Towards the beginning of the show, Hilary appeared to make subtle reference to her ex-husband Mike Comrie.

“I went to a lot of hockey games here, but now, I’m headlining MSG, baby,” Hilary cheekily said as the audience cheered after opening the show with her hits “Wake Up” and “So Yesterday.”

If you forgot, Mike, 45, is now a retired pro hockey player and during his 13-year career, he played for the Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Phoenix Coyotes, Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Hilary and Mike were married from 2010 to 2016 and share now-14-year-old son Luca. The Younger actress has been married to musician Matthew Koma since 2019 and they share three daughters – Banks, 7, Mae, 5, and Townes, 2.

During that same concert, Hilary was joined on stage by one of her famous ex-boyfriends for a surprise performance!
