EXCLUSIVE: Diane Lane (Feud: Capote vs. the Swans Anniversary, The Exorcist) has joined the cast of Netflix‘s A Hundred Percent, the upcoming comedy series starring Nick Kroll, Sam Richardson, Jason Mantzoukas, and Vanessa Bayer.
While Lane has previously starred in multiple TV dramas, her casting in a TV comedy is rare. She will portray Suzanne, a bestselling author, media mogul, and legend in the self-help world.
A Hundred Percent is a half-hour comedy about a group of friends who are stars in the world of wellness and self-optimization. Their books, podcasts, and morning routines might help us live our lives more perfectly, but away from the screens and mics, they are most definitely far from perfect.
Netflix picked up the series in January, joining the streamer’s live-action comedy slate, which also includes Nobody Wants This, Running Point, A Man on the Inside, Emily in Paris, Tires, Survival of the Thickest, Big Mistakes, and the upcoming The Hawk, starring Will Ferrell.
Gabe Liedman (PEN15, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) serves as showrunner, executive producer, and writer. In addition to starring, Kroll will also write and executive produce. Additional EPs include Max Joseph and Alex Plapinger.
An Oscar nominee who has also been nominated for several Emmys and Golden Globes, Lane most recently led Jan Komasa’s acclaimed thriller Anniversary, alongside Phoebe Dynevor and Kyle Chandler. Prior to that, she starred in Ryan Murphy’s Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, opposite Naomi Watts, Demi Moore and Tom Hollander, for which she received an Emmy nod for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series. Also recently, she starred alongside Jeff Daniels in the David E. Kelley-produced Netflix limited series A Man in Full, as well as in Disney’s Inside Out 2. Additional notable films Lane is best known for include Under the Tuscan Sun, The Outsiders, and Unfaithful. She is represented by CAA, Range Media Partners, and Weintraub Tobin.
