Savannah Guthrie did not appear during Wednesday’s (June 17) episode of Today.
The 54-year-old co-anchor is “on assignment,” according to her co-host Craig Melvin, who shared that she would not be appearing during the episode, and that Sheinelle Jones would be filling in during her absence.
Savannah returned to Today in April amid the months-long disappearance of her mother Nancy Guthrie. The case has been open for over 100 days at this point since February.
Savannah wore a yellow dress in her first appearance back, and declared: “It is good to be home.”
“Yes, it is good to have you back at home,” Craig responded.
“OK, here we go. Ready or not, let’s do the news,” she declared before moving forward with all the biggest news headlines of the day.
While she’d stopped by Today twice since her mom went missing, once to visit friends and a second time to have a sit-down interview about the experience, April’s appearance marked her first proper day of work since Nancy went missing on February 1.
One day before on Easter Sunday (April 5), Savannah shared an emotional message.
Keep up with all the updates in the search for Nancy Guthrie.

At the same time, it was recently announced she’ll be hosting a game show for NBC.
