EXCLUSIVE: Range Media Partners has signed Emmy nominee Dominique Fishback, known for her performances across film, television, and theater.
After earning a B.A. in Acting from Pace University, Fishback began her career in theater and spoken-word poetry, writing and starring in her 2014 Off-Off-Broadway one-woman play “Subverted.” The production, where she portrayed 22 characters, earned a New York Innovative Theatre Award nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance.
Fishback transitioned to TV with early guest appearances on Cinemax’s The Knick and FX’s The Americans. Her breakthrough came when she was cast by creator David Simon in two consecutive HBO projects: as Billie Rowan in the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero, based on the nonfiction book of the same name, and later as series regular Darlene in the 1970s HBO drama The Deuce.
She followed these with roles in the independent film Night Comes On, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, and George Tillman Jr’s feature drama The Hate U Give, based on the popular young adult novel by Angie Thomas.
Most recently, Fishback starred in Transformers: Rise of the Beast and led Donald Glover and Janine Nabers’ satirical dark comedy Amazon series Swarm, which she also produced. For her performance in the series, she received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
Additional work by Fishback also includes her BAFTA-nominated role as Deborah Johnson in Warner Bros.’ Judas and the Black Messiah, her Critics’ Choice Award-nominated turn in Apple TV+’s The Last Day of Ptolemy Grey opposite Samuel L. Jackson, and Netflix’s Project Power opposite Jamie Foxx.
Fishback continues to be represented by UTA and Schreck Rose Dapello.
