EXCLUSIVE: Lifetime has set up two Buried in Barstow sequel films, Buried in Barstow: Blood for Blood (w.t.) and Buried in Barstow: The Reckoning (w.t.), with Angie Harmon returning to executive produce and star as former assassin Hazel King.
The films will also feature the return of Kristoffer Polaha as Elliot, the former doctor determined to reclaim the career he lost while building a new life with Hazel, and Lauren Ashley Richards reprising her role as Hazel’s daughter Joy.
Two new additional castings include Megan Follows (Reign), who will play Zadie, the enigmatic matriarch of a powerful construction family whose interests in Barstow soon intersect with Hazel’s in increasingly dangerous ways. Harmon’s daughter, Finley Sehorn, will make her acting debut in the films, portraying a young Hazel.
The Buried in Barstow franchise of movies follows former assassin Hazel King as she tries to build a quiet life for herself and her daughter, but her dark past keeps coming back to haunt her. As new threats and unexpected connections emerge, Hazel must navigate loyalty, motherhood, and the possibility of redemption, while confronting who she used to be.
The upcoming sequels are produced for Lifetime by Nomadic Pictures and executive produced by Harmon, Michael Rosenberg, Chad Oakes, Michael Frislev, Laura Notarianni, and Monica Castellanos. Both films will be directed by Alexandra La Roche. Thompson Evans wrote the script for Blood for Blood, while the script for The Reckoning was written by Chris Pozzebon.
Additionally, as part of her previously announced production deal with Lifetime/A+E Global Media, Harmon will also direct a new Ripped from the Headlines movie for the network. All three projects will debut on Lifetime in 2027.
