New York created a new hero in June when Jalen Brunson helped the Knicks to their first championship in over 50 years.
That hero is now stepping into Studio 8H to host the Season 52 opener of Saturday Night Live.
Brunson will make his hosting debut on September 26 as the show returns to NBC. The finals MVP will be joined by Katseye, who are making their debut as musical guests. The band, who just released their new EP Wild, are currently on the Wildworld tour.
Brunson joins the likes of NBA stars Charles Barkley, Michael Jordan and LeBron James to host the long-running late-night comedy.
NBC has also set the next three hosts and musical guests after Brunson.
Dakota Johnson will host for the third time on October 3 and will be joined by hardcore band Turnstile. Johnson, who is promoting her film Verity, first hosted in 2015 and returned in 2024. Turnstile, which is on their Never Enough Tour Part 2, are making their debut.
Shane Gillis also returns for his third time hosting. The comedian, who was briefly part of the cast in 2019 before being fired, will host on October 10. This comes as his Netflix comedy series Tires was renewed for a fourth season and he sold out two performances at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field. He will be joined by Rosalía as musical guest. This marks her second time performing.
Finally, on October 31, Obsession star Inde Navarrette will make her hosting debut alongside musical guest Gracie Abrams. Navarrette just scored big gigs as part of the new X-Men film and The Waffle House Index. Abrams will be making her second appearance after releasing her third album Daughter from Hell.
