The first night of the Emmys was full of surprises.
Antiques Roadshow, which has been airing on PBS since 1997, won its first ever Emmy in 24 attempts and snatched the award away from Queer Eye and Shark Tank for the first time since 2013.
Antiques Roadshow won the award for Outstanding Structured Reality Program, also beating Netflix’s Love Is Blind and Food Network’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
Shark Tank won its first Emmy in this category in 2014 and won four consecutive times. Netflix’s reboot of Queer Eye, which just finished with its tenth season, won in 2018 and won six consecutive awards before the ABC business competition series won again in 2024, only to be displaced again by Queer Eye’s penultimate season last year.
What is even more remarkable is that Antiques Roadshow has been nominated in the category 22 consecutive times.

Elsewhere in the reality categories, Love On The Spectrum won for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program, winning for the third time in the category. The Netflix dating series won last year as well as in 2022 with FX’s Welcome to Wrexham winning in between.
The Northern Pictures-produced show beat America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked, Welcome to Wrexham and Bravo’s Summer House.
Alan Cumming continued his Emmy-winning streak, winning the award for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program.
The Traitors host also won in 2024 and 2025 and this year beat Top Chef’s Kristen Kish, Love Island USA’s Ariana Madix, Survivor’s Jeff Probst and RuPaul’s Drag Race’s RuPaul, who won eight consecutive times before Cumming start hosting the Peacock mystery format.
