Andrew Scott stepped out for the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival premiere of his upcoming new movie Elsinore on Monday (September 14) at Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The 49-year-old actor was joined by co-stars Johnny Flynn, Billie Piper, and Monica Dolan to debut their new film.

What is Elsinore about?
The deeply emotional and inspirational true story of Ian Charleson, a
gifted actor whose greatest challenge becomes his greatest triumph. Facing his own mortality with unflinching honesty, wit, and grace, Charleson delivers a courageous performance that becomes a source of healing and inspiration for those around him.
The cast also includes Olivia Colman, Luke Thompson, David Dawson, Matthew Beard, Joe Locke, Georgie Glen, Sadie Soverall, Adeel Akhtar, Dickie Beau, Juliet Stevenson, and Peter Mullan.
In addition to starring, Andrew is also a producer. The movie is set to hit select theaters on November 20th.
A couple of days earlier, Andrew took part in an “In Conversation With…” panel with moderator Keith Bennie.
During their conversation, Keith brought up Andrew‘s Fleabag character, who was dubbed “The Hot Priest” online, and the actor said he had fears of audiences not accepting him as a gay man playing a straight love interest.
“I guess there was a fear that I wouldn’t be able to get cast in those roles. That’s what everybody said,” Andrew said, via Variety. “But I knew, because when I did plays, that the people that were waiting at the stage door, they knew my sexuality and they did not care.”
“I feel very proud that that was quite a big moment because people were like, ‘The actor is gay. Whoa!’” he continued. “And it is like this idea that the audience is stupid. We go to see ‘Batman,’ and it’s like, ‘Oh my god! He is not a bat?’”
“That’s just prejudice,” Andrew added for those that may not accept it. “And we won’t cater to those people, or I’m certainly not going to.”
