Interpol and Queens Of The Stone Age announce huge Mexico City gig

Interpol and Queens Of The Stone Age have announced a huge joint show in Mexico City. Find all the details below.

The two bands will perform at the Estadio Ciudad de los Deportes stadium on March 6, 2027. “MEXICO We can’t wait to see you with @interpol,” wrote QOTSA on social media.

Interpol’s upcoming gig with Josh Homme and co. forms part of a newly confirmed three-show stint in Mexico. They’ll also take to the stage at Arena Guadalajara on March 2, and Arena Monterrey on March 9. The Black Angels will support on all dates.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time next Friday (September 25) – you’ll be able to buy yours here. Alternatively, fans can access an artist pre-sale at the same time on Thursday (September 24).

In 2024, Interpol headed to Mexico City to play the biggest show of their career, before a crowd of over 150,000 people at the Zócalo square. Queens appeared at Mexico City’s Corona Capital festival the following year, per Setlist.FM.

Interpol released their eighth and latest studio album, ‘This Mirror Weighs A Ton’, last month. NME gave the project a glowing, four-and-a-half-star review, calling it the NYC band’s “most human and personal record to date, one that accepts constant change”.

Queens Of A Stone Age, meanwhile, are gearing up to drop new LP ‘Perfecth’ on October 30. They’ve already previewed the forthcoming collection with the singles ‘Insignificant Other’ and ‘Easy Street’.

In November, Interpol will kick off their co-headline tour with Bloc Party, playing across the UK and Europe. The trek features two nights at the new British Airways ARC venue in London. Find any remaining tickets here.

The band are touring across the US and Canada this autumn, too, and are opening for Sombr in Vancouver later this month. Find tickets here.

Speaking to NME this summer, Interpol frontman Paul Banks explained why he “felt like it was really important for [‘This Mirror Weighs A Ton’] to be a great record” after having two children since the last album, ‘The Other Side of Make-Believe’.

“I was in a headspace either about how we felt about the rest of the record or post-parenthood, but I took it really seriously and wanted to make sure I came away really proud of the work,” Banks told NME. “Every song is different, but I guess there’s a spirit of striving for elation and a striving for enlightenment and clarity. There’s a lot of taking stock and honest assessments, hence the title. It’s about striving and reflection.”

Meanwhile, Interpol supported Deftones at London’s Outbreak x All Points East in August. They also played an intimate after-party gig at Village Underground in the capital.
