The Daily Show has been on the air for 30 years, and the production is celebrating by looking back at the audition tapes from some of its most famous correspondents.
Over the years, the Comedy Central late-night news satire show has seen many comedians on screen, and their audition clips prove why they were chosen to be part of the “best f**king news team.”
Featured in the video are Jordan Klepper, Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, Josh Johnson, John Oliver, Samantha Bee, Jessica Williams, Roy Wood Jr., Rob Riggle, Wyatt Cenac, Jason Jones, Ed Helms, and Rob Corddry.
The Daily Show premiered on July 22, 1996, with Craig Kilborn as its host. The comedian would end his run after 386 episodes on December 17, 1998. Jon Stewart would take over the program on January 11, 1999, and would stay as host for over 16 years. After Stewart, Trevor Noah took the helm of TDS and fronted the satire show for over 7 years. Stewart returned to host Monday shows in 2024, with correspondents rotating in the anchor chair for the rest of the week.
