Guillermo Rodriguez is speaking out following comments that he’s being set up to fail on Dancing With the Stars.

The 55-year-old television personality, who is known as Jimmy Kimmel‘s sidekick on his ABC late night talk show, will be partnered with pro dancer Witney Carson on the upcoming season of the competition series.

If you didn’t see already, Witney just announced that she is pregnant with her third child.

Witney Carson won DWTS season 34 alongside Robert Irwin

Witney Carson is the reigning champion on DWTS after winning season 35 alongside celeb partner Robert Irwin. She last won the Mirror Ball alongside Alfonso Ribeiro.

If you don’t know, Witney is married to Carson McAllister, and they have two children: Kevin Leo (born January 2021) and Jet Carson (born May 2023).

Guillermo addressed allegations that he’ll be eliminated early

During Rosie O’Donnell‘s guest stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday (August 19), she asked Guillermo if he thinks he’ll get voted off the show early.

Fans think that Guillermo was partnered with Witney because producers don’t think he’ll last long on the show and it will ensure she gets to wrap up her season early to focus on her pregnancy.

“That’s not going to happen because I’m trying my best and I’m working hard and I want to go all the way to the finals!” Guillermo said.

Guillermo said that his rehearsals have been “very tiring” and he’s learning “little by little.” His first dance will be the Cha-cha.

Dancing with the Stars will have a two-night premiere on Tuesday, September 15, and Wednesday, September 16, at 8:00 p.m. on ABC and Disney+ and streams next day on Hulu. The full cast of celebrities and pro dancers will be announced on Wednesday, September 2, on Good Morning America.
