EXCLUSIVE: Bernard Kira’s Kiraco has signed filmmaker BT Meza, whose debut feature Affection world premiered as the opening night film at Screamfest before going on to play FrightFest London as well as the Overlook Film Festival.

A genre-bending sci-fi horror thriller starring Jessica Rothe and Joseph Cross, Affection follows Ellie, a woman suffering from a mysterious condition that resets her memory and traps her in a cyclical nightmare with a man claiming to be her husband. Blending body horror, sci-fi, and psychological dread, the film draws from Meza’s love of films like The Fly, Alien and The Thing. He directed from his own script.

Since Affection‘s premiere, Meza has taken generals with top producers in the genre space. He is currently at work on his next script, once again exploring emotional horror through a high-concept sci-fi lens.
