Jesse Williams confirmed he and partner Alejandra Onieva welcomed their first baby together, and the Grey’s Anatomy alum’s third, with a hilarious video.
As Alejandra—who hails from Madrid, Spain—speaks Spanish in the background, discussing with others how much onion to add to their tortilla, Jesse opens the fridge and sorts through baby bottles.
“English, alright, English! I want my son to speak English,” he says to the group behind him, adding after a pause, “Bad enough his name is Hector.”
The clip is an almost word-for-word reenactment of Spike Lee’s 1989 film Do The Right Thing, in which his character Mookie says those exact words as he rummages through a fridge. Jesse even included a clip of the scene in his Sept. 28 carousel, followed by a picture of the aforementioned tortilla, a potato and onion omelet popular in Spain.
But other than the creative birth announcement, Jesse and Alejandra—who met while filming the 2025 series Hotel Costiera in Italy—have otherwise kept a tight lid on information about their newest arrival, including whether his name is really Hector.
In fact, the only glimpse they’ve shared of their little one so far has been a video shared by Alejandra to her Instagram Story in which she played with her baby’s feet as they rested on her stomach.
While Alejandra and Jesse have kept their relationship low key—the couple announcing their pregnancy with a subtle photo carousel shared by the actress in May—Jesse has previously detailed balancing being a dad alongside his career. In addition to his new baby, the 45-year-old is dad to kids Sadie, 12, and Maceo, 11, with ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee.
“[I was] waking up at 3 a.m. to call the kids,” Jesse told People in September of filming Hotel Costiera. “I'm nine hours ahead of them, so sleep was really tough.”
Nevertheless, being there for his kids and making sure their wellbeing takes priority has always been no. 1 on Jesse’s personal call sheet.
“You try to make sure to expand on the good,” he explained to Parade in 2023, of parenting “and try to reduce things that were scary or negatively influenced you and protect your kids without rendering them unprepared for the realities of their life.”
