Multi-hyphenate Danny McBride can now add New York Times Best-Seller Author to resumer as his debut novel Thrilling Tales Of Modern Men cracked the list in its first week. The book was number 14 on the list after hitting on shelves on June 23.
Random House acquired his first book from McBride in 2023. A darkly hilarious, unpredictable, and incisive collection of original short stories, McBride probes the fragile masculinity that’s become ever present in modern American culture. These stories, much like McBride’s iconic shows and characters explore the darker afflictions of today’s man, with McBride’s trademark humor and acerbic earnestness.
North American publishing rights were acquired by Ben Greenberg at Random House, by Anthony Mattero and Mollie Glick at CAA. An audiobook edition will be released simultaneously by Penguin Random House Audio and will be read by the author.
McBride is best known for his work on such hit films like Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder and hit TV shows like Vice Principals and Eastbound and Down.
