UPDATED: We see a slew of celebrity guest stars in the just-released official trailer for Larry David and Barack Obama‘s LIfe, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness.
It opens with Jon Hamm, Sean Hayes and David awaiting repairs for take-off in a vintage plane, and eventually moves on to a reunion between David and Jerry Seinfeld as fur-hatted pioneers heading out on a great adventure. “Bring your fishing rod!”, David excitedly tells Seinfeld. “Oh yeah!,” Seinfeld replies. “You got a net?”, David asks. “I’m gonna use my hat!,” says Seinfeld.
Also seen in the trailer are Jane Krakowski, Isla Fisher, Toby Huss and Joe Manganiello.
Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness premieres Friday, June 26 at 9 pm on HBO and streaming on HBO Max. New episodes will debut weekly leading up to the season finale on August 7.

PREVIOUS, May 7: “I have sat across the table from some of the world’s most intractable leaders and wrestled with some of the globe’s most intractable problems. Nothing has prepared me for working with Larry David.” Those words from Barack Obama at the beginning of a new teaser for Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, HBO’s seven-episode limited series, featuring David and executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama.
HBO also released a couple first-look images of David and Barack Obama which you can see below.
Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness features comedy sketches about different moments in history. Each episode will feature four different sketches.
Per the logline, President and Mrs. Obama wanted to honor America’s 250th anniversary and celebrate the unique history of our nation on this special occasion. …But then Larry David called.
As we previously reported, in addition to David, the series will also feature the likes of Bill Hader, Kathryn Hahn, Jon Hamm and Sean Hayes as well as Obama himself appearing in one sketch. Other Curb stars such as Susie Essman and Vince Vaughan are also expected to appear.
The half-hour limited series is written by David and Jeff Schaffer, who also directs. It is produced by Obama’s Higher Ground with David, Schaffer, Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Vinnie Malhotra and Ethan Lewis exec producing.
