Luke Wilson and Wes Anderson‘s night at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures took an unexpected turn.
On Monday night (July 6), Luke, 54, and Wes, 57, were at the museum, along with producer James L. Brooks, for a special event celebrating the 30th anniversary of their 1996 movie Bottle Rocket.
After the event, Luke, Wes, and James, 86, got stuck in an elevator and needed to be rescued.
The trio were trapped for roughly 30 minutes before the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived on the scene to rescue them.
On Save Your Cinema’s X, the account claimed that the elevator was “a secret passageway/elevator so celebrities could enter and exit without public interference” at the Academy Museum.
Carolyn Dunn, a production specialist for 20th Century Fox, also shared a video on Instagram showing Wes, James, and Luke emerging from the elevator after firefighters opened the doors. In the clip, Wes can be heard asking the firefighters what caused the malfunction.
“Probably had too much weight in there,” one official responded, to which the Oscar-winning filmmaker replied, “Okay, thank you very much.”
If you didn’t see the exciting news, Luke just recently welcomed his first child with his girlfriend!
