David Beckham is refusing to talk about his ongoing drama with son Brooklyn.
In a new interview with Variety, the 51-year-old retired soccer pro shut down a question about his estrangement from his 27-year-old son.
“To be honest, I’m sorry to stop you there, but that’s a private matter,” David told the journalist. “That’s the one thing that I don’t want to talk about.”
On Friday, June 12, David was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. While wife Victoria Beckham and their three younger children were in attendance, Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz skipped the event.
If you did not see, in January, Brooklyn released a lengthy statement about his family issues and explained why he doesn’t want to repair his broken relationship with famous parents.
David and Victoria, 52, have largely stayed silent on the estrangement, but rumors that there had been a rift had been ongoing for quite some time. In a recent interview, Victoria shared her first public comments about the drama.
