Jack Innanen hit the red carpet at the Adults season two premiere on Thursday (June 11) at SVA Theatre in New York City.
The 27-year-old actor was joined by his co-stars at the event – Malik Elassal, Lucy Freyer, Amita Rao and Owen Thiele – as well as series creators Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw.
At the premiere, it was revealed that a prequel episode is being released ahead of the show’s return, centering on the origin story of Jack‘s Paul Baker.
“We’re so excited for the opportunity to show fans how this friend group came to be,” Kronengold and Shaw shared in a statement, via THR. “We love a good origin story, and we can’t wait for you to see where the radioactive spider bit Paul Baker.”
The full episode, which was written by Ben and Rebecca, will become available on Friday, July 31st on FXX and Hulu at 1pm ET/10am PT. It will also get a limited release on the Hulu YouTube channel, as well as FX’s TikTok and Instagram accounts.
Adults season 2 premiere date and guest stars revealed
Adults season two is currently scheduled to premiere on August 27th on FXX and Hulu.
Guest stars have been announced to include Susie Essman, Raven-Symone, Gaten Matarazzo, Jake Shane, Isaac Powell, Ben Marshall and Zosia Mamet.
What is season 2 about?
Over eight episodes, the housemates tackle a new set of real-world questions. What if the 20-year-old who inherited your fake ID is cooler than you ever were, and younger than you’ll ever be again? How do you explain to your friends that you actually love your boring office job? Why does being around your family make you regress into your worst self? And how do you ask for things to change, when you also need everything to stay the same? Together, the friends weave intricate webs of multi-player strategy just to avoid hurting someone else’s feelings. They invent elaborate workarounds for problems they’re too afraid to face head-on. It’s not so much that they keep learning the same lessons – it’s that they keep finding new ways to make mistakes. But the one thing they consistently get right: showing up for each other.
Jack‘s red carpet appearance comes just a day after it was revealed he reportedly turned down a role on Heated Rivalry season two.
The actor has long campaigned for a role in the show, and has even been fan cast in the roles of Troy Barrett and Wyatt Hayes.
It was reported he was offered a role, but unfortunately had to turn it down due to “production conflicts.”
In addition to Adults, Jack also appears in Netflix’s Big Mistakes, which was picked up for a second season after it’s premiere earlier this year.
