Andy Reid is showing support to Eric Bieniemy.
His wife, Mia Bieniemy, is currently in stable condition after she was shot on Sunday night (July 26). He has gone to be with his wife in Virginia, leaving from the Missouri Western State campus where he was attending for training camp. Andy said there’s no timeline on when he’ll be back.
“Our hearts go out to Eric Bieniemy,” Reid, who is the Kansas City head coach, said, via Nate Taylor of ESPN. “Mia is stable, which is a plus. … We all love EB and you hate seeing those things happen. … Real life. You take care of that. She’s a saint, one of God’s good blessings. But things happen.”
Bieniemy is the team’s offensive coordinator and while he is away, pass game coordinator Joe Bleymaier will handle his duties.
Bieniemy’s son, Elijah, was arrested and charged.
“Officials say Eric and Mia Bieniemy’s son, Elijah, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharge of a firearm inside of a dwelling as a result of the shooting. Mia sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to the release,” says TMZ. More details here.
Our thoughts are with Mia and the Bieniemy family.
