Naomi Watts worked with Tom Holland on his first major movie, The Impossible, and now they’re back on the big screen together, nearly 14 years later.
It is being reported that Naomi makes a voice cameo in the new Marvel movie Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Naomi plays the role of E.V.I.E., an A.I. who assists Spider-Man.
This marks Naomi‘s first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though she’s actually appeared in a comic book adaptation in the past. She starred in the 1995 movie Tank Girl.
The Impossible was filmed in 2010 and released in theaters in 2012. The movie was based on a true story of a family who were separated during the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami while vacationing in Thailand for the Christmas holiday. Naomi earned an Oscar nomination for her performance and the film put Tom on the map, with him signing on to play Spider-Man just three years later.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now in theaters and it has already broken a box office record after just hours of being available for the public. The movie might achieve the biggest opening weekend ever based on the current tracking.
