Joan Jett has been forced to cancel a few shows after a recent injury.

On Wednesday (August 5), the 67-year-old rocker revealed that she is recovering after having back surgery following an injury.

“Following a recent injury, Joan Jett has undergone orthopedic surgery on a fractured vertebrae and will begin the necessary healing process,” read a statement on Joan’s Instagram Story.

As she recovers, Joan has been forced to cancel two September concerts: one in Costa Mesa, California, on September 5 and the other in Louisville, Kentucky, on September 24.

“While Joan hates to disappoint fans, she will be taking this time to focus on physical therapy and healing,” the statement continued. “She’s looking forward to delivering tremendous concerts for many years to come.”

The statement did not go into detail about what caused her injury.

The “Bad Reputation” singer has been on the road performing and earlier this month, she wrapped a stint in Europe and was gearing up to perform in the United States.

“Thanks for the summer love Europe, can’t wait to come back,” Joan wrote on Instagram on August 3 along with a compilation video of her shows in Europe.

We wish Joan Jett a speedy recovery!
