Jayden James, the 19-year-old son of Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, is the latest face of MAC Cosmetics’ relaunched digital publication MACzine, which revealed his cover on Tuesday (Aug. 25).
In the cover image, James is seen holding the brand’s Fix+ Setting Spray as he looks directly into the camera, while the cover poses a cheeky question: “Who the f— is Jayden James?”

The answer, at least for right now, is model, musician and emerging creative. In his MACzine interview, James opened up about his approach to skincare, giving most of the credit to his girlfriend. “Hydration always, but my girlfriend does my whole routine for me, so she’s really the expert,” he said.
MAC global creative director Nicola Formichetti also pointed to James’ creative instincts as a reason for bringing him into the MAC world. “At MAC, we celebrate emerging talent and love following their creative journeys,” Formichetti said in a statement. “Jayden’s unique sensibility makes him the perfect MACzine cover star. He’s also an incredible pianist, and I’m so excited to see what he does next.”
The cover gives James another fashion triumph to celebrate after he and his older brother, Sean Preston, 20, made their runway debuts during Paris Men’s Fashion Week in June. The brothers walked in Vetements’ Spring/Summer 2027 menswear show, making it their first major runway appearance.
James subsequently told Vogue that he was interested in doing more modeling, while acknowledging that his first trip down the runway left him wanting to sharpen his skills. “I could master my walk better — I was definitely stiff because I was nervous,” he said. “But Preston and I are trying to do music and other things.”
Music remains an important part of the brothers’ creative lives. Sean Preston once described music as his “foundation,” while James has said that the two have been making music together for years. James also told MACzine that he is continuing to work on his own music, although he plans to share it publicly “when he’s ready,” the story notes.
For now, fashion is giving him plenty to work with. Earlier this month, James attended MAC Cosmetics’ House of Glass event in Los Angeles, where he joined guests including JT, Gabbriette, Ashtin Earle and Landon Barker.
