Molly Ringwald Says ‘Secret Life Of The American Teenager’ Was Her “Worst” Experience Due To “One Person That Was Really Difficult”

Molly Ringwald didn’t seem to have the best experience on the set of The Secret Life of the American Teenager and is calling it out.

While making an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the Sixteen Candles star rated her time on the show as the “worst.”

“That would be, the worst is 1?” Ringwald said of the ABC Family show after going through other credits which included Not Another Teen Movie, Pretty in Pink and Jem and the Holograms. “Okay, that was it. The worst.”

After host Andy Cohen and the audience gave an audible reaction to Ringwald’s confession, she added, “It was a hard. I loved the cast. I loved Shailene [Woodley], there’s so many people that I worked with that… there was one person that was really difficult.”

Although Ringwald said she was “not going to say who that one person is,” it was that person that “brought it down to a 1” for her.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager was a teen drama created by Brenda Hampton which premiered on ABC Family in 2008. The series ran for five seasons and ended its run in 2013. Shailene Woodley starred as Amy Juergens, a teenage girl who must navigate her life following an unexpected teenage pregnancy. Ringwald played Woodley’s mother Anne, who was a series regular the first four seasons and guest-starred in the final season. The cast also included Ken Baumann, Mark Derwin, India Eisley, Greg Finley, Daren Kagasoff, Megan Park, Francia Raisa, and Steven Schirripa.
