Today (June 29), Billboard can exclusively reveal that the five-time Grammy-nominated Afrobeats superstar will release his sixth studio album on July 31. Titled ORIADÉ — a portmanteau of the Yoruba words for “ori” (head, destiny) and “adé” (crown) — the new set coincides with the 15th anniversary of Davido’s music career.

“Over fifteen years ago, I made a decision to trust something I couldn’t fully explain … I just knew music was my destiny,” he tells Billboard. “ORIADÉ is a celebration of the journey that led me to where I am now. To be in a position where I can help push African music forward around the world is something I’ll never take for granted. I hope when people hear my new album, they understand that purpose doesn’t always follow the expected path. The biggest blessings often come from betting on yourself, even when the destination isn’t in sight yet.”

Led by “I Know Who I Be,” which dropped on Friday (June 26), ORIADÉ marks the official follow-up to 2025’s 5ive. Featuring the Grammy-nominated, Omah Lay-assisted “With You,” 5ive earned Davido his fifth consecutive top five entry on World Albums (No. 2). 5ive also featured collaborations with a host of cross-genre stars, including Victoria Monét, YG Marley, Shenseea, Chris Brown and Becky G. With ORIADÉ, Davido plans to channel his current era of reflection and gratitude into a project that embodies his journey towards fulfilling his purpose.

The new LP also continues the Nigerian powerhouse’s banner year. In April 11, Davido made his Coachella debut with a colorful, 45-minute set that featured a surprise appearance by Adekunle Gold. After conquering the desert, Davido linked up with Major Lazer and Nelly Furtado for “No Place Like Home,” which appears on the official FIFA World Cup 2026 soundtrack. They performed the anthemic collaboration at the tournament’s countdown concert in Los Angeles, Calif. on June 10, during which Davido boldly sported a custom jacket featuring the names of abducted students and teachers from Oyo State in Nigeria.
