Clay Matthews has been making headlines for the past week after photos surfaced of him with distorted facial features and insanely buff muscles, which were all clearly fake.
The 40-year-old former NFL player now has finally revealed the reason behind those fake photos and it’s all because of a partnership with Caesars Sportsbook.
Clay is starring in a new Caesars Sportsbook commercial to promote the betting app’s brand new look.
The brand said about the campaign:
Caesars Sportsbook has completely transformed their app. And Clay Matthews has completely transformed his face. Yup, we’ve had some work done. Better design, new ways to bet like Flex Parlays, Injury Protection, more rewards, it’s barely recognizable! Just like Clay’s new face, biceps, and calves, our app has been nipped and tucked to perfection.
Clay didn’t actually get any work done, but the point of the commercial is to show how the app had work done.
Clay Matthews explains the commercial
In an interview with TMZ, Clay said, “For whatever reason, there’s this whole looks maxing phase, you know, with a a more symmetrical jaw and chiseled, you know, who knows?”
“We really wanted to emphasize that and that was the point of this whole campaign, being intentionally ridiculous,” Clay said.
Clay said he sat in a makeup chair for four hours to have prosthetics put on his body.
