Catbird is bringing some Brooklyn sparkle to the WNBA.
The New York-based jewelry brand has been named the WNBA’s official jewelry partner, becoming the league’s first-ever demi-fine jewelry partner. To mark the deal — and the WNBA’s milestone 30th season — the two are launching a limited-edition jewelry collection on Sept. 1.
The Catbird x WNBA collection comprises three collectible charms inspired by the league’s history, players and hometown fandom. The Jumpwoman Charm recreates the silhouette from the WNBA’s official logo and is engraved with a commemorative 30th-season mark, while an Engravable Basketball Charm can be customized as a keepsake. A City Letter Charm, meanwhile, incorporates official WNBA team tricodes representing eight cities. Pieces are available in sterling silver and 10-karat solid gold, with prices starting at $74.
The partnership arrives as the WNBA spends 2026 celebrating three decades since its founding. The league was approved by the NBA Board of Governors in April 1996 before beginning play in June 1997, and its 30th-season programming this year has included archival campaigns, merchandise drops, “Court Origins” nights and a countdown of the 30 greatest plays in league history.
New York Liberty founding players Teresa Weatherspoon and Sue Wicks star in the campaign imagery. The partnership also continues Catbird’s push beyond traditional jewelry releases into entertainment, and pop-culture collaborations. In recent years, Catbird has worked with a wide-ranging roster of cultural names and institutions including Phoebe Bridgers, Boygenius, Clairo, Laufey, Japanese Breakfast, Jenny Slate and Amazon’s “The Summer I Turned Pretty.”
