Miranda Lambert is finally addressing a years-old rumor.
Back in 2010, it was rumored that the 42-year-old country music singer punched Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger in the face at her 27th birthday party at a bar in Nashville, Tenn.
While appearing on New York Times’ Popcast on Thursday, October 1, Miranda was asked about the alleged incident.
Miranda confirmed that she did confront Chad, 51, but stressed that she did not physically hit him.
“I threw moonshine in his face,” she noted. “I did do that.”
When host Jon Caramanica followed up to ask how “luscious” Chad‘s hair was at the time, Miranda admitted, “I wrecked it. It was a lot [of hair].”
She also confessed that she was “nervous” to discuss the incident, then explained that “it was a late night and no one was in their best state.”
When asked if it was “playful, mischievous” exchange with Chad, Miranda insisted, “No.”
“I don’t know if we’re fine now,” she said before adding with a smirk, “But I don’t care.”
Jon and fellow co-host Joe Coscarelli apologized to Miranda for asking her about Chad, to which she said she understands the interest as it was a “ridiculous” and “magical” moment in time.
She also noted that she recently collaborated with Avril Lavigne – who was married to Chad from 2013 to 2015 – and said that “we’re good.”
Back in 2014, Miranda‘s ex-husband Blake Shelton referenced the situation in an interview with Rolling Stone. At the time of the incident with Chad in 2010, Miranda and Blake, now 50, were engaged.
“People always try to pop off or call her bluff at bars,” Blake said at the time. “One of them I don’t want to say the guy’s name, but he’s the lead singer of a very popular rock band. His initials are C.K.”
Earlier this year, another country music singer addressed their past feud with Miranda.
